Paul Popa’s Vinyl Alter Ego

Being used with digging through dusty record crates all across the Great Britain, Paul Popa managed to gather a rather eclectic collection of vinyl round pieces of music, from all sorts of genre corners. Apart from what we tasted at his gigs, we were curious to dive deeper into his private stuff so here it is, we’re profiling his vinyl alter ego with 10 quick questions:

A second hand dig I’m most proud of

Not the most proud of but the most recent one is when I had my last travel in Berlin. Had to fly back home in that day and had time only like 30-40 minutes to check Bikini Waxx Records.  Looking through stuff as quickly as possible, I was happy to find this electro piece that I had it in wantlist for a while. Happy times! :)

The record I’d love to see it repressed

I really would love to get the early DMZ releases , especially DMZ001. Growing up with the early Dubstep/UK Garage sounds expanded my musical taste a lot and these early 2000s releases are timeless.

The label I’d buy all their releases without even listening to them

    Early Warp stuff and Surreal

The record artwork that blows my mind every time I look at it

The record that triggers childhood memories

Probably this one…at 3:30, it goes nuts

The record shop I would spend my whole savings in

Spacehall, The Thing, Zionsgate, Submerge Detroit, Technique Tokyo and Discogs :)

The record that never leaves my DJ bag

Last record I checked its price on discogs

Last record I bought for my home listening pleasure

The record closest to my heart from my entire collection

Definitely this one! The king of sampling <3
